Lyrics - "When We Were Friends" LYRICS TO GRADUATION SONG "WHEN WE WERE FRIENDS" - J.E. SWEARENGIN, ADAM FECHT
SO MANY NIGHTS, I'VE
LIED AWAKE
LISTENING TO
EVERYTHING OUR PARENTS SAY
I KNOW I'VE WAITED FOR
THIS FOREVER I KNOW IT
AND I PRAY THAT YOU
WILL BE
TIME FLIES BY SO FAST
YOU NOTICE YOU FORGET
WE MAKE MISTAKES
THROUGHOUT OUR TIME
I'M HERE AND NOW I'M
WISHING WE WERE LITTLE KIDS AGAIN CHORUS
HERE WE STAND WITH OUR
FUTURE IN OUR HANDS
IT'S NOT GOODBYE BUT
SEE YOU LATER
THE MEMORIES WE'VE
MADE WILL BE IN MY HEART DON'T FORGET ME
I'VE LEARNED SO MUCH
BEING WITH YOU
THOUGH TIME WILL PASS
OUR LOVE WILL LAST CHORUS

About the writers... |
| Jacqueline Elizabeth "Lizzie" Swearengin J.E. Swearegin is a native of Kansas City, Missouri and Phoenix, Arizona. She has a multitude of talents including songwriting, singing, dancing and the theater. She was also head cheerleader in high school. "Lizzie is one of the great young songwriters / performers that has come through our studio" says Adam Blue of Adam Blue Productions in Kansas City. "She has so many song ideas - we are trying to find the right niche for her right now - we want marketability, but we don't want to follow the herd. Lizzie is unique in that she has the American Idol looks and talent but she is special in that she can actually write great songs - not just sing other artists' songs. We are very excited for the day when Lizzie finds her niche and starts working her way up the charts". For more info on Lizzie please email kcbands@gmail.com

| Adam Elijah Fecht Taking on a most "Mark Ronson" feel, Adam Elijah Fecht has been assembling some of Kansas City's best musicians and songwriters from the last 15 years. Adam is the third generation of famous Kansas City musicians dating back to the 1930's including: Glenn Darwin - 1040's crooner in Hollywood and personal entertainer to President Roosevelt and President Truman. Glenn Darwin was a star from the time he was a child, achieving several Broadway accolades even before the age of 21. Glenn Darwin was born Darwin Martin Bowen, Jr. in 1912. His mother, Gertrude Bowen also had another son named George Harvey Bowen who was Adam Fecht's grandfather and helped Adam with his musical studies along with his grandmother Karen Bowen. Harry Jenks - Harry Jenks was the classic super-talented musician who decided to pass up the glamour of Hollywood to stay in Kansas City among friends and family. Harry was the Music Director for Kansas City's Channel 9, organist for The Kansas City Monarchs and The Kansas City Royals. Harry had many friends and often threw large parties at his house. Harry's house had a "jam room" where several great musicians would come through and jam music until the small hours of the morning. Famous author and biographer Terry Teachout dedicated an entire chapter of his best selling novel "City Limits: Memories of a Small-Town Boy" to Harry and the time that they spent together. In Teachout's novel he reminisces fondly about spending nights at Harry's parties jamming along with some of Kansas City's finest musicians. Harry was also the musical director for popular Kansas City children's show "Whizzo the Clown" created by Frank Wiziarde. Three generations later, Adam Fecht is an accomplished songwriter who plays over 16 instruments, engineers and produces. Adam owns and operates Adam Blue Productions and manages over 100 Kansas City bands. Adam Blue Productions has recently expanded to include Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona as a branch of the main office. Adam has performed on stage with Brooks and Dunn, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Temptations, Gloria Gaynor, Brian McNight, The Little River Band and continues to perform at select shows in the Midwest with his band The KC All Stars and his dueling pianos act Roll Over Beethoven. Adam also wrote and produced for the Kansas City pop duo 2020. |
