During the last 10 years, The Dave
Stephens Swing Orchestra has played more than 2,000 shows,
performing for countless dancers and music lovers throughout the
nation and receiving rave reviews from jazz aficionados, heads of
state, U.S. Presidents and anyone else who happened to be
listening.
Specializing in high-energy vintage jazz and all forms of ballroom
dance, this modern incarnation of the Big Band era has collected
numerous awards and honors since their humble beginnings in
smoke-filled Kansas City jazz clubs. The orchestra’s vast
repertoire is a lively mix of their unique interpretations of
early 20th century American standards and Stephens’ original
compositions.
The Dave Stephens Swing Orchestra has opened for the likes of
Christian McBride, Royal Crown Revue, and the legendary Count
Basie Orchestra, to name a few. The band is a regular favorite of
the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando, Fla., where it headlined
alongside Duran Duran and Foreigner to a sold-out audience on New
Year's Eve 2001. In addition, the orchestra’s corporate client
list reads like a “Who's Who?” of Fortune 500 companies.
Amazingly enough, Dave Stephens is currently booked by Adam Blue,
the great nephew of one of Kansas City's most famous big band
piano men Harry Jenks. |
